CASE NUMBER 344
Diagnosis

Intradural Schwannoma

Note
These images show a T1 isointense, T2 hyperintense, heterogeneously enhancing intradural extramedullary mass posterior to L2 and L3 nearly filling the entire spinal canal and displacing the cauda equina nerve roots to the periphery. Differential considerations include schwannoma and myxopapillary ependymoma. This was surgically resected and found to be a schwannoma which is the most common intradural extramedullary mass.
