CASE NUMBER 212
Diagnosis

Warthin’s Tumor

Note
54-year-old female who underwent brain MRI evaluation for a possible stroke. Within the left parotid tail, there is an incidentally noted, circumscribed, round, T1-hypointense, T2/FLAIR-hyperintense, non-diffusion restricting, mildly enhancing mass. The imaging findings are most compatible with a small Warthin’s tumor at that site. Warthin’s tumor represents a benign lesion arising from salivary-lymphoid tissue within and near the parotid gland. It is the most common mass to arise in parotid tail space superficial to the mandibular angle. The lesions are well circumscribed.
