Diagnosis
Abscess (Prevertebral) (Hardware Infection)
Note
Extensive inflammatory changes complicating cervical spinal fusion are seen including a prevertebral abscess and more extensive background phlegmon that involves the epidural space and compresses the cervical spinal cord. The patient subsequently underwent decompression and antibiotic therapy with blood cultures positive for staph aureus.
