CASE NUMBER 18
Diagnosis

Pathologic Fracture

Note
There is a compression deformity of the L4 vertebral body with near complete replacement of the normal bone marrow signal that also extended into the posterior elements. Additionally, there is expansion of the epidural space with solid enhancing tissue along and partly contiguous with the L4 vertebral body cortex. This finding was consistent with a pathologic fracture in a patient with known metastatic breast cancer and numerous additional spine lesions.
