CASE NUMBER 272
Diagnosis

Endometriosis with hematosalpinx

Note
CT images demonstrate a large complex cystic mass in the pelvis, originally thought to represent a cystic ovarian malignancy. However MR images demonstrate that this large mass is T1 hyperintense, reflecting internal blood products, and there is adjacent dilatation of the left fallopian tube which is also filled with T1 hyperintense blood products. This constellation of findings is compatible with endometriosis with left-sided hematosalpinx
