Carcinoid Tumor

Differential diagnosis: neuroendocrine tumor, metastatic renal cell carcinoma or rarely a glomus tumor (glomus is benign- would not have metastatic adenopathy).
  • There are 3 variants of gastric carcinoid
  • Type III is usually a solitary hypervascular tumor that arises from submucosa
  • Has metastatic potential, especially if > 3 cm
  • Adenopathy and liver metastases are also hyperenhancing on arterial phase
