Wrist Anatomy

The anatomy of the wrist is complex and in the past CT evaluation of the wrist was often limited to axial slices and simple multiplanar reconstructions. However improvements in CT scanning technology now allow true volume acquisition with isotropic datasets. These advances along with easy to use 3D software have improved our ability to image the wrist with volume display. It is important for the radiologist to be familiar with the anatomy in all 3 dimensions. This exhibit provides detailed and schematic medical illustrations, corollary CT, and state of the art 3D MDCT volume rendered images and animation, which will demonstrate complex anatomy of the wrist in 3 dimensions.

This interactive atlas will include a variety of cases, which demonstrate trauma and other wrist pathology, web based teaching files, associated syllabi material, key articles, and references. A short quiz is also provided, which will allow radiology professionals a rapid evaluation of their understanding of wrist anatomy after using this atlas.
