Buzz Marketing Group was founded in 1996. What initially started out as a small group of friends has evolved into a network of more than 37,000 “spotters” who aggregate and allow us to deliver data and strategies that drive the marketing approaches for our clients. Since our founding, research has been at our core, and we are committed to helping clients understand consumers better and reach them in a more targeted fashion. To this end, we work to uncover emerging trends and disseminate information on those trends. For 2018, one can look at the top trends through the lens of a small generation of people with the potential to have a disproportionate impact on the world—Generation Z. Generation Z is composed of people who are currently 18 to 22 years old and in many ways they have more similarities with Generation X than with Millennials. Generation Z tends to be practical and driven, and this is reflected in the top 10 trends for 2018 that I will discuss. These trends are derived from a yearly large research study that we carry out from compiled data from our spotters.
