Excitement continues to grow around generative artificial intelligence (AI), including large language models (LLMs), and opportunities for it to transform the work of radiologists. LLMs are trained on the available language of text sources and can generate both informational and creative content [1]. Generative AI technologies could potentially aid in streamlining radiologists’ workflow and improve their communications. However, the policy and practice management implications of this burgeoning technology are unknown. In this expert panel article, we outline the major use cases for generative AI in radiology and discuss the major issues regarding the policies related to it.
