Title: field of view influence on ct number
Post by: Ian on April 20, 2020, 04:57:15 pm
I wanted to do a small/medium field of view CT angio of the suprahilar mediastinum, neck and brain.
I was told by a GE applications person that I should use a LARGE field of view, which was big enough to include the shoulders.
She said this was because with a small field of view the density standardising peripheral detectors (64 slice) would not be scanning air if a small field of view was used.

This was illogical to me - I was after spatial resolution for 3D reconstructions, rather than measuring densities.

What is the correct method? - for CT angios and for CT neck?
