Dr. Fish

Is it possible to reduce beam hardening in a CTA (carotid/head) by reducing table speed?

We currently run our CTA carotids at a pitch of 1.375:1 with table speed of 13.75

and our CTA heads the same (GE 16 lightspeed). We smart prep in the arch.

.........on occasion we have artifact due to aneurysm clips or other metal implants in the neck....... the radiologist wants us to "slow down the table to reduce the beam hardening and... get isotropic voxels".

Can you offer any advice to correct beam hardening?

Thank you....as always I am soooo greatful for this website and your knowledge!
