CT venogram

Recently we have had requests for CT venograms with dx of AVM or leg swelling etc.

When the order comes in the many of our radiologists have different opinions as to what is the best modality to use.  Can you give us the parameters for a CT Venogram.  This is for the lower extremity.

CT of the venous system requires a bit of patience in order to get the correct delay time without "waiting too little" resulting in "pseudoclots" or waiting too long resulting in poor opacification. For delay to r/o distal clot most people ait 2 minutes after the study is done as a delay
