I always perform the warm up prceedure before attempting the air callibaration in all the ct scans I worked. we are instaling a GE optima 32 slice CT and I am told that we have to do the air callibataion first on a cool tube before the warm up proceedure. I am confused, please explain me .  Thanks.

The tube and software registration process for the new system has design
aspects that may have changed the order of which scan and when. Please
check with your GE Field Engineer for the absolute bottom line on this
question. Their training and understanding of how to help keep the
system at peak performance and design characteristics is unparalleled.
You will also be having a field applications specialist coming in for
training and your system and they can show the documentation in the
operator's manual on best practices for tube warm up and tube care.
