Comment: The study first requires 5mm collimation and a spiral scan with 1:1 pitch without contrast. A contrast injection is then given. Occasionally excretory-phase images at 3-10min are also obtained. The authors reserve cortical-phase images for cases where information regarding renal vessels is needed. We will in cases of hematuria also do noncontrast scans at 5mm through the kidneys only.
