Scan Comments: Flash spiral is very useful when imaging young patients who are unable to hold still for a routine spiral study to evaluate boney skull pathology. This protocol should not be used to evaluate soft tissue structures. It should be noted that image quality will be slightly degraded do to the high pitch value; however, patient motion will be significantly limited. All scans are performed using the ALARA Principle.

Reconstruction Comments:  Coronal and sagittal image reconstructions are also performed. True axial MPR images are generated when patients are unable to be positioned correctly. Thin boney reconstructions are also performed.
