Case 1: Plagiocephaly: This is a 3 Dimensional imaging of a child with plagiocephaly. Note how we use the volume acquisitions with volume rendering to show soft tissue as well as bone. We prefer volume rendering for looking at any abnormality involving the sutures.
Case 2: Chest: Type A Dissection: This is a 3 Dimensional imaging of a child with Plagiocephaly. Note how we use the volume acquisitions with volume rendering to show soft tissue as well as bone. We prefer volume rendering for looking at any abnormality involving the sutures.
Case 3: Chest: Evaluation of Aortic Aneurysm This case was done for evaluation of an aortic aneurysm. The study was done on a 64 slice scanner using gated acquisition. This allows us to not only clearly visualize the large aneurysm of the ascending aorta and arch with ulceration, but also to look at the root of the aorta and to visualize the coronary arteries. Please note that there is a series of videos enclosed which include a range of volume rendered images to show the advantage of cardiac gating. Also, some of the images are done with 4 dimensional reconstruction. Once data is acquired with gating, 4 dimensional reconstruction is, indeed, possible.
Case 4: Ankle: DJD of ankle with .6 mm thin sections
Case 5: Chest: Detailed mapping of pulmonary vascularity. Note the incredible detail at the lung periphery.
Kidney: VRT mapping of child demonstrating 2 right renal arteries but no evidence of UPJ
Lower extremity: Detailed vascular mapping in a 15 second acquisition.
SMA: Occlusion of SMA and resultant ischemic bowel. Note amazing detail in this SICU patient.
CTA Upper Extremity: Hall of fame case showing occluded shunt in forearm with detailed vascular mapping.
